I've been a bit slack lately....sort of lost my 'mojo' with my painting. Not sure why...Hubby is doing night shift at the moment...I guess that's 'mucked' up my days a little.
Anyway...here's a few progress photos of what I'm working on at the moment.
Oil on stretched canvas
71 x 56cm
so good to see your process ....
ReplyDeletedon't worry with your "mojo" . it is there . sometimes we just need to nature to breath .
you didn't lose anything :D
all the best for you , Amanda !
Thanks Caio....yeh, I know what you mean, it's not just the painting...there's alot of things 'getting me down' at the moment. I need a 'slave' to do all those 'yukky' things such as housework and groceries...hehehe. I know..I know...I should just forget about the housework and stuff...but sometimes it just has to be done. Anyway...we all have these 'ups and downs'...its what makes a stronger I think.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to see the way you build up the image - this is a more traditional way of working - a blocked out background building up into more detail. It gives the work depth: not only is aerial/perspective depth at play but textual depth as well.
ReplyDelete'Mojo' is just a word, but your work is solid and real - it's our feelings that change, for whatever reason.
I rarely work the way you do - I am far more into the expressive area of things - but recently I started work on a few little tiny paintings testing some of this technique -
we can all learn from each other.
Heh David....thanks for the encouragement
ReplyDeleteI think I need to try something new...like you, I need to try a new technique.
I have a friend who paints by what they see and remember from their dreams...oh, to be able to paint and be free like that, amazing.
I feel I'm still a beginner...I've still got soooo much to learn, but I think there will always be something new to learn, that's the joy of 'creating'.
Your beach paintings are fantastic. So much energy and movement. Very nice1
ReplyDeleteFabulous! God has given you an eye for detail and impact that others of us miss in our daily life.
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, thanks for stopping by my blog. It is great to see your work in progress. It gives an insight to your work. It is also great to see how other artists do work, where they start from and how they build their work. Wonderful painting as usual. Kay
