Well...my next challenge is the 'Brisbane Landmark Exhibition'.
This exhibition runs in conjunction with the 'Tattersall's Landscape Art Prize'. Only fifteen artists are selected to participate in this exclusive exhibition.....this year, I have been fortunate enough to be invited to enter 4 artworks.
The exhibition is designed to display paintings which depict well known and maybe some lesser known Brisbane landmark icons.
So this is the first of my entries....it's still a 'work in progress'. For those of you who don't know Brisbane, this scene is the intersection near 'Central Train' station in the city. I haven't thought of a title as yet, but for now I will call it 'Brisbane Central'.
It's in oil, on a stretched canvas measuring 101 X 76cm.
I'm really pleased with the composition and how the under-painting has turned out. It's certainly very different to my usual 'figurative landscapes'....it's a subject matter I've never attempted before.
The Brisbane Landmark exhibiton will be on display in conjunction with the 'Landscape Art Prize', in the foyer of Waterfront Place. 1 Eagle Street, Brisbane. From Monday 13 September till Friday 24 September (7am - 6pm)
