'Divided' - Nude - Work in Progress

It's time for a change....thought I'd leave the 'figurative landscapes' for a while, & try a few nudes.

They are painted in oils on 2 stretch canvases size 45 x 60cm.

Life Drawing - February

Life Drawing recommenced for '2013' .....it was great to back with the Samford Art Group....

I had alot of fun with colour today!

 .....warming up

 ....lovin' the colour!!

'Where it all Begins!' - Life Drawing workshop

Well, what does everyone think?....this one is a bit different to my usual nudes and life drawings.

Today I attended a Life Drawing workshop - 'Where it all begins!'

The workshop is designed to remove the self critic approach to drawing and painting.

This process evokes many feelings allowing the artist to take risks in forming their own unique marks.

The workshops are held at Murumba Downs, if anyone is interested in attending next months workshop, contact Julianne Janbroers or Todd Whisson on Ph 3886 2865 or email todd.whisson1@optusnet.com.au

Unititled Nude - FINISHED

Well she's finished....well I think she is.  There's a few things that bother me....I'm happy with the figure, it's just the background that didn't work out how I wanted.  I guess 'artists' are often like that, there's always something that annoys us about a particular work, or sometimes they just never seem to be finished.

My daughter doesn't like the white that I painted around the face and head....what do you think?

Untitled Nude - Work in Progress

Another update.....I'm happy how the figure has progressed, now I just have to figure out what to do with the background to finish off.

Untitled Nude - Work in Progress

I'm having a bit of a play with this one....trying hard to be 'different'

The canvas is 75 x 120cm and I'm working in oils.

....competed under-painting

....a bit more work done

close up of 'face'

I was hoping to be, not so detailed with this one....I started out wanting to be a bit more 'free' with my brush strokes, but I'm heading back to my usual style of detail and hard lines.  Oh well, can't help who we are or how we paint, lol.
